Coming up here on Christianity in a Democracy - a series on Australia values, looking at God's perspective on the values and how they relate to correct Christian behaviour. The series will cover:
- A 'fair go' and
A 'fair go' - Part 2 - Mateship
- "No worries" / "she'll be right, mate"
- Freedom and dignity of the individual
- Equality of men and women
- Freedom of religion
- Commitment to the rule of law
- Parliamentary democracy
- A spirit of egalitarianism that embraces mutual respect, fair play, and compassion for those in need.
The last six are the formal values identified for the citizenship test that immigrants to Australia will need to pass in order to become citizens.
Of course, becuase there's quite a bit in there, the series will probably be interspersed with the regularly scheduled commentary on hot issues and political debate.
